Dog park users of Little Mountain Park I spoke to last week hadn't heard about the rural municipality of Rosser's open houses on CentrePort zoning.
The RM is putting out the welcome mat for CentrePort, a massive industrial project well underway, to create an inland port. The RM is holding open houses this week to solicit input as it looks to re-zone the land to allow for industrial development.
I spoke with the reeve of the RM, Frances Smee, Monday afternoon, about the fears dog park users have that the industrial development will encroach on the park. Smee assured me that the park and other green space in the CentrePort footprint would be preserved, and that would be reflected in the zoning changes. Click on the button for the RM's explanation of what it's doing.

And here is the link to a story I did back in May for CBC as the park increasingly becomes an island in a sea of industrial development.
Stay tuned. I will update this story later this week, and I have a feeling there will be more you may want to know.
(PS, here's link to the follow up story I did for CBC, just in case you are interested.)
