New pet by-law to allow up to four dogs
Requirement to license cats part of deal
The city of Winnipeg is inching closer to revamping the rules on pet ownership.
It will still allow Winnipeggers to own six pets, but instead of limiting them to a maximum of three dogs and three cats, they'll be allowed to have up to six cats, or up to four dogs. All must be licensed.
The report on the newly created ‘Responsible Pet Ownership’ by-law goes before the Standing Policy Committee on Protection and Community Services on Thursday, July 4.
